Probably not, but i like to see things in cold hard numbers, plus it gives you a target when you might be lacking in willpower. I'd tried cutting down before I logged it all but it just didn't work.

It's cheaper than some of the options suggested here too. Ł150 for some trendy shouty twat telling you what exercises to do and what to eat ? No thanks.

The part that ages you most is the fact you are measuring weight in metric but height in imperial. I bet you measure cold temperatures in Celsius but only recently stopped thinking of hot temperature in Farenheit :)

A real answer though - walk more. Don't bother doing this with limited time when its stressful - just try and find the excuse for a few leisurely walks every week. If you can't get anywhere scenic, just stroll to a shop further away than the usual next time you have errands etc... It's also good for posture and lower back pain.

Boring answer, sorry.

Um, tandem hang-gliding with a lion.

Fair play to you and all that, but you really needed an app and to buy a fitbit to tell you that?

"Cut out eating shit and exercise. That'll be ÂŁ70 please Sir."

A lot of `GAY’ advice more like….. look… It’s BBQ season…. get on the Hog and the beef.. and worry about it in the Autumn…

I've just lost two stone in the last three months.

Used "My Fitness Pal" app to log everything I ate and a fitbit to measure calories burned. Eat 500 calories a day less than you burn and the weight will drop off.

It just makes you think about what you're eating and you quickly learn what is going to cost you calories and adjust your portions accordingly.

Basically it means you cut out the crap between meals.

Become a Muslim and select the "Industrial Ramadan" option.

It basically lasts a whole year, every year and comes with a free alcohol ban.

If you get into the habit of it, going to the gym or that sort of thing is addictive, so there is hope.

As ED says, though, it has to be a change in your lifestyle for good or you'll just put the weight on again.

The thing that killed me about doing exercise was the boredom. So I'd listen to audiobooks or music or even read an ebook while I was in the gym.

Everyone will have their different ways to motivate themselves though.

Keeping in shape is the easiest thing in the world, you've just got to WANT to do it.

For all the different advice you'll get, different fad diets, you've just got to be committed to it. Eat healthily 3 times a day, avoid chips, crisps and chocolate and all the obvious stuff, knock takeaways on the head, when you eat carbs try to go with brown rice, and do some exercise.

It really is that simple. And boring.

"when you're younger you can eat what you like and drink what you like and still fit into your 26" waist trousers and zip them closed, then you reach that age, 24, 25 your muscles give up and wave a little white flag and suddenly you're a fat bastard!"

Exactly what I've done and it's working a treat. Introduced a bit of exercise and chuffed with the results so far.

Re: Putting on some timber
Don't go for crash diets (unless you have a specific event you need to lose weight for). Make little changes to your diet - having salad seven days a week is boring and you won't stick to it, but substituting it in twice a week will help you and easy to keep going with. Cut out between meal snacks - and if you can't substitute in something a bit healthy like having some fruit instead of a bag of crisps.

Just eat fewer calories than you expend.

You can do it eating pringles if you like, you will still lose weight.

Go running three times a week.

Start gently.

Do a couch to 5k program, easy to find on the web.

You might fuck your knees in 15 years time but that's better than being a fat CUNT in the same way that being bald is better than being GINGER.

If you are ginger AND fat, good luck, you need it.
